MY MATRON
I would like to welcome everyone to my blog. It's my first post and I would like to dedicate it to my mom, the typical Indian mom.
My mother is my strenght, she is my spine, she is the one person who understands me better than myself, she is the person who believes in me on the days that I have given up on myself and she is the only person I would be willing to give up the last slize of pizza for. My mother has ALWAYS been there for me, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how revolting my mood was, no matter what time of the day or night it was, no matter how she was feeling. She is the one who has shown me complete acceptance, compassion and understanding. If there's one thing that comforts me on a sleepless night is knowing that I have her, it is knowing that regaradless of what I achieve in life I can always run back to the warmth of her arms and get my favourite coconut oil head massage.
Sometimes I feel like mothers don't get enough credit for all the work they do, sometimes I feel like I don't thank her enough for all that she has done for me and all that she continues to do for me every single day. She has taught me patience, she has taught me to rise above circumstances, she has taught me to love unconditionally, she has taught me to give my very best at everything I do, she has taught me that happiness lies in giving, but most importantly she has taught me how having a plate of rice for every meal is essential for my body!
I'll be starting a new chapter of my life in a couple of months, moving to a different city and spend 5 years of my life there. Eventhough I am happy that my mother won't be there to constantly nudge me to eat, I know in my heart that she will be the person I miss the most. As quoted by Christie Watson, " No daughter and mother ever live apart, no matter what the distance." Everything I am, everything I will hope to be will be because of you Ma, I love you.
